Build Parallel Systems While Reducing Dependence on Harmful

Community

This is not about chaos or collapse. It’s about disciplined, organized community power.

Our Goal

The goal is:

  1. Reduce dependence on institutions people believe are harming society.
  2. Build resilient local systems that keep people alive and connected.
  3. Use nonviolent economic and social pressure to force change.
  4. Protect vulnerable people during the transition.

Evidence

History shows durable movements succeed when they combine:

  • economic organization,
  • mutual aid,
  • political education,
  • disciplined nonviolence,
  • and parallel institutions.

PHASE ONE - WAKE UP & ORGANIZE

Stop reacting. Start coordinating

Stop reacting. Start coordinating

Stop reacting. Start coordinating

1. Build Local Assemblies

Create neighborhood-level groups of 10–50 people.

Each group maps:

  • who has medical skills,
  • who can cook,
  • who has transportation,
  • who has land,
  • who can teach,
  • who can repair things,
  • who has legal knowledge,
  • who has childcare capacity.

The objective is interdependence.

Knowledge is Power

2. Political Education

Study:

  • economics,
  • food systems,
  • labor history,
  • propaganda/media literacy,
  • constitutional rights,
  • cooperative ownership models,
  • de-escalation and conflict resolution.

Recommended institutions to involve:

  • unions,
  • tenant groups,
  • community gardens,
  • veterans,
  • nurses and educators.

Stay Connected

Stop reacting. Start coordinating

Stay Connected

3. Establish Communication Infrastructure

Do not rely on one platform.

Use:

  • encrypted messaging,
  • email lists,
  • printed newsletters,
  • in-person meetings,
  • local radio/podcasts.

Movements fail when communication is centralized.

PHASE TWO - BUILD SURVIVAL SYSTEMS

1. Food Networks

2. Medical Mutual Aid

2. Medical Mutual Aid

Create:

  • community gardens,
  • neighborhood kitchens,
  • seed banks,
  • bulk food cooperatives,
  • local farming partnerships.

Teach:

  • food preservation,
  • rain collection,
  • composting,
  • basic nutrition.

2. Medical Mutual Aid

2. Medical Mutual Aid

2. Medical Mutual Aid

Build volunteer networks of:

  • nurses,
  • EMTs,
  • therapists,
  • herbalists,
  • doctors willing to donate time.

Focus on:

  • preventative care,
  • mental health,
  • first aid training,
  • mobile clinics.

3. Housing Stabilization

3. Housing Stabilization

3. Housing Stabilization

Organize:

  • eviction defense,
  • shared housing systems,
  • emergency shelter networks,
  • cooperative housing projects.

4. Skill-Sharing Economy

3. Housing Stabilization

3. Housing Stabilization

Teach practical skills:

  • carpentry,
  • plumbing,
  • coding,
  • sewing,
  • auto repair,
  • electrical work,
  • childcare,
  • conflict mediation.

Dependency decreases when practical competence rises.

PHASE 3 — ECONOMIC NONCOOPERATION

“Withdraw energy from systems causing harm.”

Nonviolent pressure works when it is coordinated and sustainable.

1. Strategic Boycotts

Target:

  • corporations funding harmful policies,
  • exploitative employers,
  • predatory financial systems.

Focus pressure carefully.
Scattered outrage accomplishes little.

2. Buy Local

Support:

  • cooperatives,
  • local farms,
  • Black-owned businesses,
  • worker-owned enterprises,
  • community credit unions.

3. Reduce Consumer Dependency

3. Reduce Consumer Dependency

Encourage:

  • repair culture,
  • shared tools,
  • clothing swaps,
  • local production,
  • minimalism.

Consumer culture weakens resistance by keeping people financially trapped.

4. Labor Organization

3. Reduce Consumer Dependency

4. Labor Organization

Workers have leverage.

Support:

  • unions,
  • worker councils,
  • collective bargaining,
  • workplace walkouts when strategically viable.

PHASE 4 — CREATE PARALLEL INSTITUTIONS

“Don’t just resist. Replace.”

This is the long-term phase.

Build:

  • cooperative grocery stores,
  • independent schools,
  • land trusts,
  • local newspapers/media,
  • community health clinics,
  • public defense funds,
  • restorative justice systems,
  • cooperative banks and lending circles.

The goal is not isolation.
The goal is resilience and bargaining power.
